Mandurah Bowling & Recreation ClubCorner Allnutt & Dower Streets, Mandurah - Completed 2010

The City of Mandurah, acting on behalf of the ‘Mandurah Bowling & Recreation Club’, commissioned Oldfield Knott Architects to design a contemporary bowling club to reflect both current and future members’ ideals and requirements.

The project consists of two external greens, an enclosed green, the main clubhouse structure, on-site parking and rainwater tank storage facilities. The planning of the clubhouse allows for the separation of back-of-house functions and amenities from the larger public/social spaces by means of an interconnecting Foyer. A central bar and linked commercial kitchen provide service to the Sports Bar, Members’ Lounge, and Function area, with each separated by operable walls. These public spaces provide views and access to the undercover Terrace which links to the Enclosed Bowling Green, which, in turn, is flanked by the two external Bowling Greens.
