Royal Perth Hospital Plastic ClinicsGoderich Street, Perth WA - Completed 2013

One of five concurrent projects at Royal Perth Hospital, this project involved the refurbishment of a previously gutted and unused level of Goderich Block to create a new Plastic Clinic, replacing the outdated and undersized clinic located in the main Hospital building. Oldfield Knott Architects were awarded the commission to design, document and undertake contract administration.

The scope included: Eight Consultation Rooms; Ten Dressing Rooms; Two Procedure Rooms; Hand Therapy/Physio Room; Plaster Room; Utility areas; Ablutions; Reception/waiting area; Administration offices; Storage; and Staff facilities.

Oldfield Knott Architects worked closely with Royal Perth Hospital management and staff to achieve the most efficient work flow within the clinic whilst maintaining universal accessibility and public/private separation. Given the north south orientation of the existing building, Oldfield Knott Architects utilised the available natural light to deftly illuminate the disparate spaces in an effort to engender a welcoming environment for staff and patients.
