Hungry Jack's BelmontGreat Eastern Highway, Belmont WA ‎ - Completed 2013

This store is located on the Great Eastern Highway, which had undergone major road widening works by Main Roads. As a result, the existing restaurant’s operation was affected by the loss of practical car parking and an effective drive-through lane. This compelled the Client to redevelop the site with a new restaurant for the same business. The Client decided to procure a prefabricated light weight steel frame building for the new store in order to minimise the “loss of trade” period in this high trade location.

Oldfield Knott Architects was engaged to provide architectural design and documentation services for the prefabricated building component. We were also engaged to provide architectural services for the site work. The pre-fabricated building was built in Bendigo, Victoria and transported to site by road, a journey of some 3,300km for each of nine trucks. The installation of the nine modules, connections to pre-laid services and finishing and commissioning of services took only four weeks after which staff training commenced in the new store. The new store quickly returned to previous sales volumes which have since grown.
